Looking for a job with a think tank or an NGO
From: Rimi
Hello Chandni,
I am graduating this coming summer with a masters in Economic Anthropology. I'm looking for employment in India. All my research and training is in the field of development in the developing world (I specialise in relational qualitative analysis of socioeconomic institutions and developing the most effective modus operandi from that), and now I'm looking to work with NGOs/think tanks which work in the same field, in a research or administrative position.
Chandni, I'll be doing a book project in Calcutta for a year or so, but I'm free to move before that or even during, if a tempting enough job opens up elsewhere. Also, I'm as keen on think tanks (Centres for Communications and Development, for example, or Centre for Policy Research) as I am on NGOs, so if you're connected to them as well, keep me in mind :-)
Best wishes,
Rimi

NGO LEAD in Navi Mumbai seeks volunteers/workshop facilitators
Rupesh Gesota
Hello,
Greetings from LEAD!
*Who are we?*
LEAD is a group of young people united by a desire to educate and thereby, change destinies. *Love, Education and the Aspiration to change Destinies* — that is what LEAD stands for. We endeavour to make education accessible to the children of slum dwellers in Airoli. We help with admissions, provide extra curricular help through daily sessions aimed at making learning fun and visit the families of our children to ensure that their education receives adequate family support.
For details visit our websites & video:
www.leadatairoli.weebly.com

www.picasaweb.google.co.in/lead.airoli
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S62ZI0vnjM
Would like to invite you & your acquaintances to make LEAD a movement.
- Pls add ' LEAD_Airoli' community on orkut.com
- Pls add 'Lead Airoli ' as a friend on facebook.com
- For quick updates you can also tweet on http://twitter.com/lead_airoli
*How can you help?***
We need volunteers willing to invest time and effort in our children. You can help:
- *Teach (revision of schoolroom lessons, story-telling, art, craft, games, etc) *
- Regularly interact with parents (we hope to help the parents understand the significance of education and healthier lives for the children)
- Provide vocational training for teenagers
- By becoming an occasional volunteer (helping us accompany children on picnics or helping out at medical check-ups, etc)
- Raise funds (you could either make a donation yourself or help by selling old newspapers, soliciting donations, etc)
- Conduct collection drives (for school stationery, toys, old clothes for the children)
- Write for our website (our blogs need to be updated frequently to ensure that activities that we conduct are publicised; so, if you think writing is more in your line, you could help us update our blog.)
- Research (on govt policies and schemes, etc)
LEAD runs on the determination and perseverance of a few. Which is why we have come to believe that all we need is committed volunteers and the rest will follow. More than anything, we would like to add to this family of friends who have come together for something they believe in. So, even if you think none of the above options work for you, but you would like to be associated with LEAD, give us a call and we can discuss what would best suit you. We look forward to hearing from you.
Call Rupesh at 9594020304, Chaitra 9987773048 or Kailash 9892416496
We would like to wish you all the best whatever volunteering activity you choose with whichever organisation you pick. We know from experience that there is no greater thrill than the one you get when you realise you are actually part of something meaningful.
Regards,
LEAD team
